LIFEGUARD IV
AQUATICS MANAGER
(21 yrs. of age or older)
· Works under the supervision of the Aquatics Supervisor.
· This classification is the highest level of the lifeguard series.
· This classification is categorized as part-time or seasonal in support of the programs at Kenwood Cove Waterpark.
· Applicants must have a thorough knowledge of Kenwood Cove activities, facilities, policies, & procedures.
Duties:
· Capable of fulfilling the duties of Lifeguard III, as needed.
· Responsible for overseeing daily waterpark operations.
· Performs all duties & responsibilities of the Aquatics Supervisor in his/her absence.
· Report non-routine & major operational issues to Aquatics Supervisor.
· Supervise & assign work schedules for all water park employees.
· Responsible for recording & depositing all monies received from use of the water park.
· Maintains order in swimming areas.
· Oversees Swim Lesson Program.
· Explains & enforces waterpark rules & regulations to ensure the safety of all waterpark patrons.
· Tests & records water quality for temperature & /or pH levels.
· Prepares, maintains, & records accurate activity reports, incident reports, & risk management reports.
· Administers basic first aid, if needed.
· Responds in emergency situations in any capacity within scope of training.
· Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
Education:
· High school diploma or G.E.D.
Certifications:
· Training available.
· Lifeguard training certification with Waterpark Skills from the American Red Cross.
· First Aid & CPR/AED certifications.
· Lifeguard Instructor certification.
Experience:
· Employed for one (1) year in Lifeguard III position or demonstrated experience and/or skills to advance to Lifeguard IV.
· Three (3) years prior advanced experience as lifeguard preferred.

Requirements:
· This is a driving position.
· Must possess a valid driver's license to operate utility vehicles & golf carts on city property & non-public access passageways.
· Must have reliable transportation to-and-from work.
· Must be available to work shifts.
· Must follow scheduling protocols & be able to obtain weekly work schedule.
· Must workdays & hours necessary to perform assigned responsibilities & tasks.
· Must be available (especially during regular business hours or shifts) to communicate with subordinates, supervisors, customers, vendors & any other persons or organization with whom interaction is required to accomplish work & employer goals.
· Performs all job tasks according to rules, guidelines, & expectations of the Aquatics Supervisor.
· Must attend required trainings & meetings.
· Required to review posted event calendars.
· Must follow time & attendance guidelines.
· Must adhere to payroll requirements.
· Must respond in a timely manner to all forms of communication regarding City of Salina employment by way of phone calls, emails, texts, etc.
· Must be able to lift 10-40 pounds frequently.
Hours:
· Must be able to work from Mid-May to Mid-August during hours of operation.
· Must be able to work mornings, evenings, weekends and/or holidays (i.e. Memorial Weekend & Fourth of July) & special events (i.e. Smoky Hill River Festival, private parties).
Pay:
· $16.25 - $18.25/hr. DOQ
