UTILITY TECHNICIAN II
Design/Construction Observation
Utilities Department
Duties: Develops technical construction plans & specifications for installation of sanitary sewer, water mains & other utility improvements; performs technical work associated with the utility asset management system; prepares engineering estimates for utility projects & maintains records; reviews contractor’s periodic pay estimates for materials on hand & work completed; assists with the preparation of engineering feasibility reports; prepares maps, plans & project conceptual designs; reviews & prepares hydraulic water modeling analysis; advises developers, builders, utility companies & property owners in utility matters; assists with coordination of projects with other departments, local, state & federal agencies.
Education: Associate’s degree in Mechanical, Environmental, or Civil Engineering Technology or related field.
Experience: Two (2) years technical civil engineering work and/or drafting; CADD, GIS & other technical software systems preferred.
Requirements: Must possess a valid Kansas driver’s license.
Work Type: Medium, exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
Hours: Monday - Friday 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Pay Range: $22.18-35.48/hr. Eff. 01/01/2024 $23.07-36.90 DOQ
